Bloom also recognizes the importance of social connections. We take great care in fostering meaningful and lasting relationships.

OUR MISSION

Bloom Program's mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of adults living with developmental disabilities. We believe that everyone, including those who are differently abled, should have the opportunity to have a meaningful role in their community and to live an active, happy and enriched life.

Daily programming is created to develop essential life skills, promote independence and give participants the chance to actively become a part of the community.

Skill Building Activities- We believe that there is a teachable moment in everything that we do in life. Participants build and develop their skillsets by doing everyday tasks and activities in our fun and encouraging program environment. These activities include but are not limited to, cooking and baking classes, shopping and budgeting, household tasks, personal hygiene practices, and practicing public transportation routes,

Art Sessions- Participants love our art sessions. Whether it's a fun age/ability appropriate art project or one of our instructional art sessions, art is alway a hit.

Volunteer Placements- Participants will have the opportunity to become active within the community volunteering at different organizations. Valuable social skills will be practiced and gained while at these placements.

Physical Component- Physical activity is so important to a healthy lifestyle. Physical training, Zumba, Yoga, Hiking, walking, recreational sports, and Dance sessions are apart of the weekly schedule.

SOCIAL CLUB

Saturday

Socialization can sometimes be hard for adults who are living with exceptionalities. Bloom Program recognizes this and works hard at fostering and maintaining meaningful friendships between participants.

Saturday Social Club is all about fun and socialization. Participants have an opportunity to "hang out" with peers and engage in fun, stimulating activities geared to the interests of our participants.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

The Bloom Program has been providing recreational respite for my 20-year-old daughter, who has a mild intellectual disability, since October 2020.

I cant say enough good things about Danielle and the  great care and experiences that she is providing to my daughter. My daughter is learning how to cook, shop, and socialize without realizing that she is being taught very important life skills, while becoming more comfortable and confident at the same time. To her, she is just having fun hanging out with Danielle. I would highly recommend Danielle to anyone caring for a person with an intellectual disability  because Danielle is knowledgable,  caring and the smile  she has on her face when my daughter arrives at her home tells me that she truly enjoys what she is doing.

We first met Danielle this spring during Covid. Our son Adam who is 27 has Down Syndrome  and attended  a program that was cancelled. We desperately needed someone to support Adam during these unprecedented  times. Danielle offered to take Adam and another young man out a few times a week for walks and hikes outside followed by a treat. Adam looked forward to Danielle's car pulling into the driveway for their outings. Danielle has been an angel to Adam. She would always show up excited and ready to spend the afternoon with our guys! Thank you Danielle for your support.
